It was forecast rain later today, but I thought I’d have time to get the base coat on and then install a tarp.

So, that’s exactly what happened.

I sanded down the plywood with 80 Grit and then applied a latex primer and installed a tarp just in-time for the rain. I then popped into town to wait for it to dry and to upload a couple of previous blog posts, as I don’t have the internet at home.

After returning home, I was able to apply the first semi-gloss coat of latex paint.

The following morning the tarp had leaked a little in the rain and the paint was still wet, but hurrah, we have sunshine now! I’m writing this as I wait for that to dry and then I will apply the second coat of gloss before calling on friends to help me flip the floor system.

This when the fun begins again and I install the EPS and 3/4″ plywood subfloor. Then onto the walls.

With a strong forecast of a week’s worth of solid sunshine, it’s time to really hammer in a lot of work.
